His character suffers from some serious obsessive compulsive disorder traits that make the movie quite interesting.
Helen Hunt is the leading lady in the film and brings as much class and dignity to the film as she does to everything else she ever does. She plays a single mother who works as a waitress in the restaurant Nicholson visits daily. Hunt and Nicholson have great chemistry throughout the movie and do a stand up job overall.
Of course, the supporting roles played by Greg Kinnear and Cuba Gooding, Jr. are also wonderfully played.
