Bridget Jones’s Diary :

Single women of the world now have someone they can truly relate to and her name is Bridget Jones. From the onset of Helen Fielding’s book, everyone knew this character would be well loved throughout the world, and she is. The movie is quite a hilarious account of the book and will keep you as entertained.

Cast
The casting of Renee Zellweger as Bridget Jones was a great idea. Not only did the petite actress happily pack on weight for the role, but she played it very well. She did an amazing job learning the British accent and all. It was amazing to see her acting abilities tested in every manner. She succeeded far beyond what many hoped for her in this role.
With Colin Firth and Hugh Grant playing the two leading male roles in the movie, there are certainly enough stars to go around. These actors do a fantastic job in their roles and really make those who read the book get a visual picture of what Fielding was trying to create.

Script
The greatest thing about the movie script of Bridget Jones’s Diary is that it stays true to the novel. Some movies venture so far from the novel they are trying to copy that those who have read the novel first often feel a little cheated. However, with Bridget Jones’s Diary, there is nothing to worry about in that area considering Fielding wrote the screen play as well. The script is funny and has the same voice as the novel, which is a welcomed thing by those who loved the book.
