Happiness:
Starring Jane Adams, Jon Lovitz, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Dylan Baker, this movie is about three sisters whose lives are full of problems. Joy (Jane Adams) has absolutely nothing in common in her name; her sister Helen (Lara Flynn Boyle) is an author who wants the real rape experience so that her writing may look authentic; other sister Trish (Cynthia Stevenson) who has 3 kids is married to Dr. Bill Maplewood (Dylan Baker).

The other characters in this movie are Dr. Bill's patient, Allen (Phillip Seymour Hoffman), Allen's neighbor, Kristina (Camryn Manheim), who is in love with Allen.

Dr. Maplewood is the most difficult character in this movie. Dylan Baker with his glaring gaze could boil cheese, but, Solondz injects comedy even into very despicable situation in   Maplewood.

The only element that angered people of this plot in 1998 is why Maplewood was presented as a three-dimensional man though he is a predatory pederast with real emotions. Was it just because it would not have been interesting without him and his 3 dimensional character?

This movie has a story that presents abnormal relationships.

This is comedy movie is about a 7th grade student, Dawn Wiener (played by Heather Matarazzo), who is the victim of school bullying and how she handles crushes, family problems, rejection etc. Throughout the movie, we see Dawn struggling to keep herself on in various situations and under troublesome conditions. Not only fellow classmates, even teachers tend to give Dawn a hard time in her school.

Although a dark comedy, Welcome to the Dollhouse can still be enjoyed with the entire family.
