Harry Potter Half Blood Prince Movie Reviews

It is an open secret that both the books as well as movies on Harry Potter have been an instant success with kids and teenagers and to some extent adults too. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is the sixth film in the Harry Potter saga.

This movie deals with Harry’s teenage phase where he realizes things that he feels he ought to have learnt it long back. Although the book concentrates more on Voldemort, his past and Dumbledore’s teachings, the movie also focuses on romance that covers fifty percent of the movie time with the locations and characters that could have been much better.

But there is one area where the movie has excelled in and that is in developing a character and giving more importance to certain characters or introducing characters like Horace Slughorn other than Fenrir Greyback, Lavender Brown and of course Narcissa Malfoy as much the focus the book gives to these characters. The hard core fans of Harry Potter and the books would be surely happy.

This movie has done a great job when comes to shattering glass or casting the spells. In fact, it is very similar to what is mentioned and described in the book. But the soundtrack leaves much to be desired.

In an attempt to both satisfy the original fans of Harry Potter as well as the general audience, the Half Blood Prince leaves some viewers feeling unsatisfied, as if something was missing. The movie has been simplified so much so as to reach normal audience and this leaves the die hard fans a little disappointed. The usual overwhelming appeal is missing compared to earlier Harry Potter movies and this is in spite of the movie having entertaining elements to it.
